CLAAD fosters collaboration among the multiple sectors of society that had previously been working concurrently, yet not in unison, to address the growing national concern for prescription drug abuse. CLAAD enables health professionals, law enforcement, businesses, and government, among other entities, to share resources and work together to prevent the diversion, misuse and abuse of prescription medications.
CLAAD’s policy positions are established through a consensus process, in which at least 80 percent of the participants must represent not-for-profit organizations. This rule of governance ensures that the public interest drives CLAAD’s priorities, as opposed to the interests of individual stakeholders.
Participate in CLAAD by subscribing to our newsletter, Policy Brief, or by joining our coalition of organizations interested in finding agreement on prescription drug and pain care policies.
